The general list of rare and threatened plants and animals of Magadan region includes 134 species of plants (angiosperms – 95, gymnosperms – 1, filices – 7, lycopsids – 2, articulates – 1, lichens – 1, fungi – 27 species) and 113 species of animals (mammals – 25, birds – 46, reptiles – 1, amphibians – 1, fishes – 20, mollusks – 10, insects – 10 species). Description of each species is provided with illustrations, as a rule, original colored pictures or drawings, and distributional map, defined status and rarity category, brief description of habitus, information about distribution (in general and within the region), habitats and biology, up to date number and limiting factors, taken and required conservation measures, complete bibliography.
The book is addressed to conservation and nature reserve experts, researchers, students and tutors of high and secondary education in the field of Biology, nature lovers and local explorers.

General list of rare and threatened animals of the Chukchi Autonomous District includes 89 species, among them: invertebrates (mollusks and insects) – 13, fresh water fishes -12, birds – 40, terrestrial and sea mammals – 24 species. Additional list includes 46 species of invertebrates and 11 - birds. Description of each species is provided with illustrations, as a rule, original colored pictures or drawings, and distributional map, defined status and rarity category, brief description of habitus, information about distribution (in general and within the region), habitats and biology, up to date number and limiting factors, taken and required conservation measures, complete bibliography.
